Customer Loyalty - Don't Ignore Your Existing Customers

New customer trial is essential for growing an independent restaurant business, but don't ignore your existing customers. If you operate in a very competitive restaurant neighbourhood (restaurant row), invest some of your marketing dollars in activities that increase frequency of visits and encourage word of mouth marketing from your loyal customer base.

A customer loyalty program, offering returning customers discounts or other rewards based on increased levels of spending is a great an affordable starting point.

Sell Your Goods & Service
Don't forget to get the word out.... As a restaurant owner you sell two things,
  • Great food (prepared goods)
  • Unique ambiance (service)

Many restaurateurs spend money advertising the name and ambiance of their restaurants, I understand... the ambiance creates the feeling that you want customers to have when they eat at your establishment. But don't forget to highlight the goods.

What makes your goods different from the other restaurants selling similar menu items in your restaurant neighbourhood (restaurant row)?
