Following the "GOOD FOR YOU - GOOD FOR US" campaign that was held from February 4 to 24 at all IGA stores in Quebec and New Brunswick, The Joy of Eating Better Foundation is proud to be donating $316, 900 to the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF). This donation, which helps the MHIF to invest in heart disease research that has been ongoing for thirty years, is made possible by the generosity of IGA customers, grocers, and suppliers.

A heartfelt 30-year partnership

The collaboration between IGA and the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation goes back a long time. This year's fund raising campaign marked a 30-year partnership that has been responsible for no less than $8.8 million in donations. "In addition to increasing public awareness, the GOOD FOR YOU - GOOD FOR US campaign has a real impact on the prevention of heart disease," explains Mélanie La Couture, Executive Director of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation. "All money invested over the past thirty years thanks to this annual campaign has enabled the Montreal Heart Institute to make major advances that help save lives."

IGA grocers wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to their customers. They are proud to contribute to this fundraising campaign that aligns with The Joy of Eating Better movement and its four pillars ‒ cooking differently and more often, discovering local and international flavours, eating healthier, and making responsible choices.

About The Joy of Eating Better Foundation
Launched in January 2016, The Joy of Eating Better Foundation is an initiative of Sobeys Québec and its grocers. Its mission is to help the greatest number of people possible from Quebec and New Brunswick to eat better based on three components: education about healthy eating, food donations to those in need, and encouraging people to cook more.
