TORONTO -- Put on your chef hats, Canada; KFC Cooking School is back in session! On March 18, KFC Canada will once again open its doors to the public to get them into a real KFC kitchen to learn how to make finger lickin' good chicken, the same way the Colonel did it in 1952.

Back by popular demand after all sessions sold out in 2017, classes will be brought to fans in two new cities, Saskatoon and Halifax, and will be returning to Toronto. Fans will get to hear from real KFC cooks to learn about the ingredients that make KFC's finger lickin' good chicken, starting with 100% real Canadian farm-raised chicken. They'll also get to make their own delicious fried chicken, using the Colonel's secret 11 herbs and spices.

"Canadians want to know what goes into the food they eat, so we're proud to open up our doors and show them everything there is to know about KFC's famous fried chicken," said Samantha Redman, chief marketing officer, KFC Canada. "Fans will get to be unofficial KFC cooks for the day, learning the ins and outs of a real KFC kitchen."

Similar to last year, the hour-long sessions will provide fans with the unique opportunity to prepare and cook their own delicious KFC chicken. The only thing fans won't get their hands on is the secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices, a recipe that is locked in a vault in Louisville, Kentucky.

"While the secret recipe will be kept under wraps, customers will still take away buckets of information," said Stephen Scarrow, senior marketing manager, advertising and media, KFC Canada. "Last year's Cooking School was a world-first, and we're excited to continue feeding fans' curiosities and teaching them the Colonel's way."

KFC Cooking School demonstrates the company's dedication to providing quality products to its customers. KFC Canada is proud to serve 100% real Canadian farm-raised chicken free of added hormones and steroids, the same kind you'd buy from the grocery store.

"Our customers deserve quality products and we're happy to show them first-hand that the chicken they're buying from KFC really is of the highest quality," said Scarrow.

How Can Canadians Attend?
  • Visit https://www.kfc.ca/kfccookingschool to select your location, preferred time and sign up. Spots are limited, so sign up today to reserve your place in the class.
  • Just like other schools, fans hoping to attend will be asked to answer a few chicken-related skill-testing questions; but fret not, unlike a pop quiz in trigonometry, this one won't affect your chances of being admitted. Think of it more as chickenometry.
  • Registration opens on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and closes once all classes are full.
  • To register and reserve a spot, fans are asked to make a $5 tuition deposit, which is donated directly to Add Hope, KFC's global CSR initiative to fight hunger.

Fans interested in enrolling can visit https://www.kfc.ca/kfccookingschool to learn more and tag #KFCCookingSchool on any of KFC's Canadian social channels - @kfc_canada on Twitter and Instagram or KFC Canada on Facebook.
