MISSISSAUGA, ON -- As Canadians coast-to-coast prepare to celebrate our nation's 150th birthday this Saturday, Boston Pizza wants to make its roots clear and show love for the true north, strong and free, by changing their name to Canada Pizza. Now, through the Canada Day weekend, more than 380 restaurants across Canada will proudly showcase the new name.

"Canada is the birthplace of Boston Pizza and there is no better day to remind Canadians of our patriotism than Canada's milestone birthday," said Jordan Holm, Executive Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Boston Pizza International. "As Canada's number one casual dining restaurant brand, it felt natural for us to change our name and give Canadians a designated place to celebrate our great country's 150th birthday, on a patio, with great food and a cold drink in hand." In addition to the new name, Canada Pizza is inviting all Canadians to attend the country's largest patio party across its more than 380 locations on July 1st. Guests in attendance may also run into a moose or a beaver, as Canada 150-themed animal masks have made their way into the new Kids Activity Packs. Share a picture of your kids wearing one on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using #BPCanada150 to win Boston Pizza gift cards. SOURCE Boston Pizza International Inc.
