On Monday, Jan. 18, nearly 33 years after opening its first store in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Domino's Pizza will open the doors to its 400th Canadian store. The recognized world leader in pizza delivery opened its first Canadian store – the first one opened outside the U.S. – in Winnipeg in 1983, marking the brand's foray into international growth. Currently Domino's has stores in every Province and two of three Territories.
"I am so proud of all our franchisees and team members for their dedication and hard work in achieving this milestone for Domino's Pizza," said Mike Schlater, Domino's Pizza of Canada's chief executive officer. "We're thrilled we have the opportunity to celebrate our 400th store in Winnipeg where it all started."

Brian Trier, VP for the Americas Region, added: "The opening of our 400th location in Winnipeg is a huge achievement for our Canadian operations. Our international team is very proud to share this special milestone alongside our franchisees, their teams and our valued customers. We know it is the hard work of our local partners every day in their communities that will continue to set us apart from our competition."

In honor of the 400th store, Domino's Pizza of Canada will make a $4,000 donation to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Domino's will celebrate the opening of the store with a ribbon-cutting event on Monday, Jan. 18 at 2:00.  The store is located in Winnipeg at 468 Osbourne Rd.

In attendance at the event will include Schlater, Trier, Michael Curran, president of Domino's Pizza of Canada, along with Craig Young, Greg Guffei and Rachel Alison, Domino's Pizza franchise owners of the 400th store.

The 400th store marks Young, Guffei and Alison's 10th Domino's store in Winnipeg. Young started with Domino's as a delivery expert in 1991; Guffei's career with Domino's began in 1998 as an assistant manager, and Alison joined the company in 2006 as a pizza maker. They have worked their way through the system to reach franchise ownership.
