TORONTO - Canadians have been craving its return. It's about time we gave them what they wanted. On March 26, KFC Canada is bringing back the international phenomenon, the Double Down – the bun-less, all-chicken sandwich. But this time with a brand-new twist: a waffle!

That's right, the Waffle Double Down is made with two delicious chicken fillets, a delectable Belgian waffle and drizzled in a uniquely Canadian maple aioli sauce. It's about time this pairing of sweet and savoury came together.
"The Double Down is our most talked about and demanded menu item in Canada, so we wanted to do something special exclusively for Canadian fans," said Samantha Redman, chief marketing officer, KFC Canada. "We know fans have been craving chicken and waffles on our menu, and we're happy to provide this unique take on the trendy food pairing. The maple aioli sauce is a sweet nod to KFC's Canadian fans."
The Double Down has proven immensely popular with Canadians every time it comes back. After it debuted in 2010, Canadians made the Double Down KFC's best-selling new menu item ever, selling over 350,000 in its first 10 days. The Waffle Double Down joins the Zinger Double Down as a variation on the classic recipe. This is the first-time waffles have been added to the mix. Being Canadian has never been tastier.
