OAKVILLE, ON -- Starting today, a first since 1964, Tim Hortons is launching its new Timmies Minis kids menu – a new option that kids will love and parents on the go can feel good about saying "yes" to.

The Timmies Minis menu offers meal options with no artificial colours or flavours, a full serving of fruit and no added sugar. Many of the items are also an excellent source of calcium and vitamin C.  The Timmies Minis menu lets parents and kids build their own meals as they select one of three entrées, one of four sides and one of five drinks to suit their tastes.

"We asked parents and kids what was most important to them when selecting a kid's meal and the number one answer for both groups was taste," says Alex Macedo, President of Tim Hortons. "We conducted extensive research on the best taste for any kids meal in Canada and we are very proud that we are launching kids products that moms, dads and kids alike will get excited about."

Kids and parents can select one of three entrées to build their Timmies Minis meal:
  • Mini Melt: a grilled cheese sandwich made with cheddar cheese nestled between slices of soft white bread and topped with a blend of melted mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses
  • Mini Wrap: seasoned grilled chicken tucked in a soft tortilla with lettuce and cream cheese, and grilled fresh when ordered
  • Chicken Strips: two tender pieces of seasoned, breaded chicken breast served with sweet and sour sauce

To complement the entrée, kids and parents can choose from apple slices, SunRype FunBites, Black Diamond Cheestrings or snack-sized potato wedges, as a side and white milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, apple juice or a bottle of water as a drink. In 2019, additional items will be added to the menu. Timmies Minis Packs retail for $4.99*.

Tim Hortons has partnered with Team Canada hockey player Meaghan Mikkelson to launch its new kids menu– with Meaghan being a proud hockey mom and ambassador for the Timmies Minis program.

"Tim Hortons has played a big role in my life growing up. From visits after hockey practice, to meeting up with friends after school, Tims was always there. Now, as a busy mom to an active toddler – and soon to be mother of two – the Timmies Minis meals fit very well into our very busy life," says Meaghan Mikkelson. "It feels good to introduce Tims to my kids and finally be able to say yes to food that I feel good about and my picky eater does too!"

Every Timmies Minis Pack comes in a fun box that celebrates Canada and will change every season.  Instead of a toy, the box will come with a fun activity book that will also change monthly. With winter just around the corner, the first box and activity book will have a winter sports theme with Canadian animals playing some of our favourite winter activities including a hockey-playing beaver, snowboarding bear and tobogganing raccoon.

Another thing parents and kids can feel good about is that 10 cents from every Timmies Minis Pack goes to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation to help build brighter futures for youth in communities across Canada.

Starting November 18, Tim Hortons will be launching a nation-wide campaign to promote the new kids meals including new TV, radio, out of home and social media spots. The campaign was supported by creative agency Zulu Alpha Kilo.
