McDonald's® Canada hires a record number 8,900+ new employees in one day

McDonald's Canada and its franchisees are pleased to welcome more than 8,900 new crew members as a result of its one-day recruitment blitz, breaking its previous record and exceeding the 2016 target goal by 1,920 people or almost 30%.

The job opportunities at McDonald's are as diverse as its workforce. The new recruits will hold a variety of positions including, restaurant managers, cooks, crew, and hospitality roles including the new Guest Experience Leaders working in the dining room.

By the numbers:

• 44,392: the number of people who applied for crew and management positions
• 8,920: the number of new crew and restaurant management employees hired on April 6th, 2016
• 3,018: the number of new employees hired in Ontario
• 3,471: the number of new employees hired in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces
• 2,431: the number of new employees hired in Western Canada
• 650: the number of new Guest Experience Leaders hired

McDonald's Canada was the first quick service restaurant to establish an annual one-day hiring event. As a result of this hiring initiative, McDonald's and its franchisees have welcomed over 36,000 new recruits to restaurant teams nationwide since 2011.
