At the halfway point of our fundraising campaign for The Great Food Drive for Children, Moisson Montréal, Moisson Rive-Sud and Centre de bénévolat et moisson Laval have raised $32,000 of our $350,000 goal. Spokespeople Claudia Marques, Stéphane Demers and Jamie Orchard urge all Montrealers to be generous in this last week and donate online at www.granderecolte.com to make a difference in the lives of 18,000 children between the ages of 0-5. Five renowned Montreal chefs will also be auctioning their talents to boost the cause.

Starting Monday, April 4 until Friday, April 8, the 5 ans, 5 chefs Auction will be offering five dinners for 10 persons, cooked in the winner's home by one of five chefs: Stefano Faita, Bob le Chef, Danny St-Pierre, Jonathan Lapierre or Étienne Huot. All of whom are fathers and believe in the importance of this cause. "The reason why I'm getting involved in The Great Food Drive for Children is simple: I have children. I see them growing up and I understand what they need in order to be healthy, to concentrate at school and to learn," explains Stefano Faita. "I live in a mixed neighbourhood, where some have so much money and too many others do not, it's an injustice. That's why I'm donating my time and energy, to make a success of this campaign, to improve the lives of those around us," adds Danny St-Pierre. "Five chefs have donated their time and we know that chefs don't have a lot of time, so give generously and you may enjoy an unforgettable dinner at home with one of us, in addition to helping The Great Food Drive for Children," comments Bob le Chef. Danny St-Pierre
will also host a benefit dinner for Moisson Montréal, Moisson Rive-Sud and Centre de bénévolat et moisson Laval: "It's important to do your part and give back, to not just take in life. This cycle of giving is so important." The benefit dinner will take place on Wednesday, April 6 at Petite Maison, Danny St-Pierre's new restaurant in Mile End. On the menu: a simple and delicious gourmet meal in the presence of 60 other professionals. To buy your ticket (cost: $250), visit: www.jedonneenligne.org/moissonmontreal/frm_detail.php?FrmUID=41

Richard D. Daneau, the new Executive Director of Moisson Montréal, underlines why this campaign needs to be successful: "Thanks to The Great Food Drive for Children, more than 85 organizations in the Greater Montreal area will receive infant formula, baby food, cereals and healthy snacks that will be distributed to families that, every day, worry that their kids won't get enough to eat. This assistance helps them get back on their feet, since food insecurity isn't always a long-term problem." Remember: in the Greater Montreal region, 18,000 little ones depend on your generosity for help and for a better start in life.

About the Great Food Drive for Children
Initiated in 2012 by Moisson Montréal, the Great Food Drive for Children is an annual campaign that involves two other major food banks, Moisson Rive-Sud and the Centre de bénévolat et moisson Laval. The primary objective of the Great Food Drive for Children is to raise monetary donations for toddlers, in order to help feed 18,000 little ones aged 0-5 living in poverty in the Montreal region.
