Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLKI), the franchisor and operator of Popeyes® restaurants, is marking its 100th store opening in Canada with a franchise tour and celebratory event in Toronto on November 19, 2015. Popeyes CEO Cheryl Bachelder will visit the country as part of the event.

Since opening its first international location in Toronto in 1984, Popeyes has continued to delight Canadian consumers while growing its presence in the market. In the last 18 months alone, the chain has opened 30 stores and recently hit a milestone 100 restaurants.

"Popeyes' 100 Canadian stores are a testament to the value and success of the our brand, which provides consumers superior tasting chicken and seafood that's prepared slowly yet served-up fast," said Bachelder. "We are proud that Popeyes has helped to provide jobs and business opportunities for Canadians for over 30 years, employing up to 30 people per restaurant. On November 19, we will recognize the service and commitment of these franchise owners and staff members with a special celebration."

Bachelder has successfully nurtured a workplace culture based on Popeyes' purpose: to inspire leaders to achieve superior results. She is the author of the leadership book, "Dare to Serve: How to Drive Superior Results by Serving Others."

"Leadership is the equivalent of an extreme sport. It requires the courage to take people to a daring destination and the humility to serve them well on the journey," said Bachelder. "It's this tension between daring and serving that creates the condition for people to do their best work."

Bachelder will visit Toronto on November 19 - 20, 2015 and will be available to speak with the media on November 20, 2015.
