When 12 noon strikes, hungry Canadians can now bite into McDonald's Canada's newest addition to its menu, a warm and satisfying chicken sandwich aptly named The 12™.The new menu item responds to Canadians' evolving lifestyle preferences at a time when Canadians are visiting quick-service restaurants at lunch more often and seeking convenient on-the-go options. According to recent data published by The NPD Group, lunchtime visits grew at quick service restaurants by seven percent in 2015.*

The 12 is freshly prepared in the restaurant's kitchen and uses chicken sourced from Canadian farmers, making it a quality go-to lunch option. It is made with a choice of grilled or crispy seasoned chicken breast, applewood smoke seasoned sauce, fresh tomato, leaf lettuce, white processed cheddar cheese on a sesame and poppy seed glazed bun. "We created the recipe with our partner chefs to deliver against the opportunity to provide our guest with more variety and choice in our menu, offering a great tasting product, freshly prepared in restaurant, available with crispy or grilled chicken." said Nicola Pitman, Director, Menu Management, McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited. The introduction of The 12 as a permanent menu offering is another example of McDonald's continued commitment to menu innovation and meeting the evolving needs of its guests.
