IRVINE, Calif. -- Taco Bell is bringing back the popular "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" promotion for the 2018 World Series presented by YouTube TV. The first player to successfully steal a base during the Fall Classic scores everyone in America a free Doritos Locos Taco. History shows it's not a matter of "if" but "when" a base will be stolen, so Taco Bell is giving fans even more to celebrate with the addition of limited-edition baseball caps and an exclusive trading card collection via Topps.

"Every year, we're overwhelmed with the excitement from our fans when combining America's favorite pastime with America's favorite tacos," said Marisa Thalberg, Global Chief Brand Officer at Taco Bell Corp. "Now, we're knocking that out of the park by introducing even more ways for our fans to experience and commemorate the Taco Hero."

Traditionally, the World Series champions are presented with championship caps, but since all of America wins once a base is stolen during the World Series, Taco Bell will offer exclusive "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" baseball caps to fans everywhere for Game One on October 23. A limited collection of caps will be available via Taco Bell's Taco Shop, giving fans a completely different way to partake in the celebration.

In addition to the baseball caps, Taco Bell will partner with Topps, the Exclusive Trading Card of MLB, to create baseball cards commemorating this year and previous years' Taco Heroes, all of whom have stolen that base that's won America a free Doritos Locos Taco.

The Topps cards will be available in local restaurants around the ballparks hosting the World Series beginning with Game One on October 23 and will be included in any cap purchase, until supplies last. The Topps cards pack will include six Taco Hero cards each with their own exclusive imagery and stats with a seventh TOPPS NOW card ready to be collected from Topps.com 24 hours after the base is stolen. After all, TOPPS NOW baseball cards capture the greatest moments as they happen, and what better way to celebrate a historical moment in taco history.

The 2018 World Series presented by YouTube TV begins with Game One on October 23 and will at least run through a Game Four on October 27, and at most a Game Seven on October 31, if necessary. Once the first base is stolen, fans can get a free Doritos Locos Taco on Thursday, November 1 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) at all participating U.S. Taco Bell locations, while supplies last.

Taco Bell is making it even easier than ever for fans to score a free Doritos Locos Taco this year, since fans that are registered on Taco Bell's website or app can redeem their free Doritos Locos Taco online on November 1st.

"We've created a fun tradition for our fans with Taco Bell and the 'Steal a Base, Steal a Taco' promotion," said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Commerce. "It makes for a unique moment every year during the World Series and certainly the fans will have their eyes on the first stolen base of the Fall Classic."

America's 2018 Taco Hero will join the likes of Cameron Maybin, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jason Bartlett, Ángel Pagán, Lorenzo Cain and Francisco Lindor who have all won free tacos for America in past World Series and gone down in "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco" history.

Fans are invited to check out www.TacoBell.com/StealATaco for more information on how to receive a free Doritos Locos Taco. Limit one (1) free Doritos Locos Taco per person or registered account. Full program rules can be found here.
